William Simpsons is holding its own three week cycling festival to tie in with the Tour de France! Each week with it’s own, underpinning aim…

Stage 1 runs from 7th to 10th July will see residents pulse race as they engage in seated cycling exercise and a bit of healthy competition! Using armchair pedal-pods, residents will compete for the top spot on the Leader Board, winning the coveted ‘Top Cyclist Trophy’!

Stage 2 is our ‘relay’ great sponsored staff cycle! On Tuesday 15th & Wednesday 16th July’ staff will complete two 12 x hour relay races on stationery bikes in reception. Your donations and sponsorship will help propel our cycling staff over the finish line, raising £300 along the way to pay for live musical entertainment for residents!

Special ‘Guest Cycling Slots’ are available during our Open Day on Saturday 19th July, when visitors can cycle along in time with the live ‘Freddie Mercury’ Tribute concert between the hours of 1pm to 4pm! It’s a great family event and all are welcome along!

Stage 3 is Trishaw Week where residents will be riding in style around towpaths, cycle paths, and country lanes as they bring our very first ‘Tour De William Simpsons’ to a close. Rachel Smith
