The difference we make

Transforming lives

We believe every individual should have the opportunity to make their own choices so they can achieve their potential and live their best life, irrespective of physical or mental health limitations.

Our vision is to expand William Simpsons into a care community, providing our core services of residential care for respite, short and long term residential care, with additional supported living facilities, dedicated rehabilitation services and outreach care-at-home teams.

Changing outcomes in the here and now

Whilst our vision is for the future, the benefits of our care provision is having a positive impact on peoples lives right here and now.

Respite care is available for short-term planned stays or emergency care and affords the individual and their family with a safe, supportive haven when it’s needed.

Short-term rehabilitation care affords the individual the time and space to re-equip themselves for life within the community.

Longer term care provides a warm and welcoming home full of friends, where you can pursue the interests and activities you enjoy.

Don’t just take our word for it

Morag was 24 when she came to William Simpsons, initially for respite care to provide support during a medication related transition on the advice of her Community Psychiatric Nurse (CPN).                                                                                                                                                                               The staff were in regular contact with Morag’s health team throughout her stay and they visited Morag within the home when it was required. This three week stay provided Morag with the support and reassurance she needed during a difficult time and gave her family peace of mind.

Alongside the practical support and care the respite team provided, they worked closely with Morag to build her confidence and provide reassurance to both her and her family.

When Jack was hospitalised due to the effects of alcohol abuse and his mental health deteriorated to a stage where he was unable to continue living independently within the community.

After a prolonged period in hospital Jack was referred to William Simpsons for rehabilitation support and was with us for seven months. During this time the care and activity teams worked together to rebuild Jack’s confidence and his ability to successfully build on the life skills required for returning to the community.

When Jack left William Simpsons it was to take up residence within supportive living accommodation nearby and he often drops back in to spend time with the friends he made during his stay.
