A trip to the hair salon is something to look forward to, but for these ladies the benefits of a salon session reach down to the roots of community living...

From the moment each of these ladies stepped out the car they became local ladies, independent in their own right enjoying a trip to the hair salon friends.  We don't believe in broadcast branding which is why our vehicles and staff sport small, discrete logos when identification is needed. 

A warm welcome awaits within the salon and it is not long before the ladies are deep in conversation with staff and other salon clients.  Laughter ripples around the room as clients share funny stories and the ladies are part of it, their opinions are sought and their inclusion in the flow of conversation is natural, effortless and just as it should be.

A pause in proceedings for a coffee whilst the hair dye takes is an opportunity to relax, read a mag and chat some more.  Care is taken to ensure the ladies are comfortable without drawing attention so it is just another customer interaction. 

The anticipation builds as the stylists check in with the ladies about the finishing touches - do you like your fringe slightly to the left? would you like hairspray or prefer to go without?  Then the capes are off and the rear view mirrors are flourished to a chorus of complements from the other clients and salon staff.

Their smiles say it all.

These ladies left the salon walking ten feet tall, feeling amazing, absolutely delighted with their beautiful hair which was cut, coloured and styled exactly as they wanted. But there is more behind their smiles, a simple afternoon in the salon chair afforded these ladies a sense of belonging and of knowing they are part of our lovely local community.   Now that's something really special!
